Mission Partners India, Inc. (MPI) works in partnership with the indigenous local church in South India to help marginalized women and children. It is the goal of MPI to come “alongside” and assist this church in realizing a shared vision to build sustainable indigenous programs that promote the dignity of these women and children. The key areas of focus are: education to help break the cycle of poverty, empowerment through micro-enterprise initiatives, skills training and job creation and the development of projects that promote a culture of mutual respect.
MPI has worked in partnership with the Church of South India since 2003 to address the needs of the poorest of the poor enabling them to provide food and shelter for their families. MPI helps empower the marginalized through skills training and job creation initiatives such as the "Give A Cow" program and the "Banyan Tree Tailoring" program. These programs provide income generation for the unemployed and those living below the poverty level.
Through development projects such as the installation of Bore-wells, mission institutions can provide clean drinking water for thousands of school children. Clean water also provides sustenance for the vegetable gardens that supplement their daily meals.
